Airconditioning systems and the dreaded feedback form
After writing Dust Buster Bus, I decided I’d try and find out how regularly the air conditioning system is cleaned on Singapore’s main public bus providers. Continue reading “Airconditioning systems and the dreaded feedback form”
Dust buster bus
Over the last 10 years or so the Singapore public bus companies have changed all their buses to air-conditioned ones.
Gone are the days of foggy windows on a rainy day. Gone are the days of finger drawing on the condensation – my version of legal graffitti. No more greasy wind blowing into my face as I looked out the window on fine days. Continue reading “Dust buster bus”

Motorcycle license to drive a three-wheeler
On the advice of LTA in their response, I wrote to the Traffic Police (TP) asking what class of driving license I need to drive a motorcycle with sidecar. Continue reading “Motorcycle license to drive a three-wheeler”
Sidecar information finally!
I have been waiting for LTA’s reply on motorcycles and sidecars.
Finally, after 15 days, I receive not one, but two exactly-the-same e-mails from them on the 14th of June 2006.
If you’ve ever wondered about getting a sidecar with your motorcycle for use in Singapore, you’ll find this information most useful. Continue reading “Sidecar information finally!”
Expired
So I found a roll of Fuji Sensia slide film. The use by date on the box is November 2001. It has been stored in normal room temperature.
I’ve not used film in ages, but I still have my trusty Yashica T5 (T4 Super), a camera that I love a lot. Against my old Canon 55 (50E) with a 28-200mm lens, the Yashica T5 churned out better, sharper, more saturated pictures. Continue reading “Expired”
Clean Up Phase One
After struggling to finish draft one of a new comedy I’m writing, I decided I need to do something about the layout of my bedroom.
I have my office right in my bedroom. I know, I know, home offices should not be in one’s bedroom, it’s not professional, there’s no separation of sleep-related activity and work-related activity. But I’m not so lucky to have two rooms to do that. So it’ll have to do. Continue reading “Clean Up Phase One”
Sidecar information?
I’m still waiting for LTA’s response to my email I sent them on 31st May.
As you know, I’ve been searching for information on owning a motorcycle with a sidecar so I can drive around Singapore with my dog.
I asked them what kind of license I’d need to get to ride such a thing, whether I need special permits and whatever to ride an “Others” vehicle.
We’re in 10th June now.
First class government! Way to go!
