And we have made it to Gardiner, Montana, the Northern gateway to Yellowstone National Park.
Spotted Elk on the way in today.
Unlike West Yellowstone, the Western gateway, this entrance is closed during winter. West Yellowstone is about 14 miles outside Yellowstone National Park, while Gardiner is merely 5 miles outside. But, the drive from Gardiner is a lot more picturesque. And, by first impression, I think Gardiner is a bit more charming than West Yellowstone.
Today, was a much shorter drive. We just drove up from West Yellowstone to Gardiner and saw the Mammoth Springs. Also, saw more volcanic features. There are so many springs, each one unique. And no one has the same experience, because the landscape is always evolving.
Hmm…. this trip I have made a lot of vertical shots.
More photos in the gallery.
It started raining while I was visiting Mammoth Hot Springs. Some shots looked quite wintry.
I hope you are also enjoying some of my ND400 shots. I had very few, even though I made many attempts due to camera shake.
