Here are some photos I’ve taken with my mobile phone while using the public bus system in Singapore. They were taken while I was riding in the bus, or while I was waiting at bus stops for the bus.
Taufik, Singapore’s first Singapore Idol, endorses a smoke-free Singapore. But how about a sweat-free Singapore?
So yesterday, I’m close by to Sunshine Plaza, I decided to pop in to Delicious Muffins.
This was my second visit in two months or so. If you know me, a second visit is pretty high praise.
The first time I give something a try, it’s usually when I’m on the move, on an impulse. I don’t have time to analyse the product and it’s more a taste test.
These muffins do pass the taste test. But more than that, these muffins pass the muffin test. In Singapore, most muffins sold under the name “muffin” taste and feel like cake rather than muffins. These muffins are worthy of the muffin name.
So this time, I brought home the muffins and photographed them.
Muffin analysis time. Continue reading “Delicious muffins”
Today I boarded the 170 on a ride from Sim Lim Square to Coronation Plaza.
I’ve probably taken this service no more than five times in my life.
When I first boarded it, I was immediately stunned by the stench in the bus. It smelt like cow dung. It was disgusting.
I looked around the bus and the condition of it was appalling. Continue reading “Bus 170 – a filthy ride”
I was clearing up my mobile phone of images I’ve taken on a whim and haven’t deleted, when I found some of Rusty on my walks to Upper Pierce Reservoir. Continue reading “Rusty”
Didn’t I say I had itchy fingers?
It’s barely past a week and I’ve already messed around with my new planted tank.
I’ve added:
I’m beginning to think, due to the colouration and markings of the boraras I got, that the fish is not actually the mosquito boraras (Boraras Brigittae) but Boraras Urophthalmoides.
My fish have the signature exclammation point marking of the Boraras Urophtalmoides. That is, a dark/black lateral stripe across the body and ending with a black dot on the peduncle (the junction of the end of the fish body and beginning of the tail). See it? After admiring these shrimp in the shop for several months, I decided to plonk down $3 to get one.
My fancy new tanks are much bigger than I thought they’d be.
About three quarters of the existing tanks’ water barely fills one quarter of the new tank. I didn’t think 8″ x 6″ of difference on the height and breadth would make such a big difference.
Here, you can see the old tanks next to the new:
I ordered a set of fish tanks from Soon Heng. They’re a family run business that have been making tanks in Singapore for many years. They make the tanks and family members also deliver the tanks. Continue reading “My fish tanks have arrived!”
