Over the last 10 years or so the Singapore public bus companies have changed all their buses to air-conditioned ones.

Gone are the days of foggy windows on a rainy day. Gone are the days of finger drawing on the condensation – my version of legal graffitti. No more greasy wind blowing into my face as I looked out the window on fine days. Continue reading “Dust buster bus”

Licensed to Grill

Last night, I had a barbecue with some friends.

The menu for seven was

  1. Mango Cucumber Salsa
  2. Spicy Pineapple Salsa
  3. Cucumber Yogurt Dip
  4. Mango Yogurt Dip
  5. Grilled Eggplant Dip
  6. Grilled Flank Steak Salad
  7. Lamb
  8. Burgers
  9. Chicken with garlic seasoning (Mama Rap’s Hot N’ Spicy with Garlic from Gilroy, the Garlic Capital)
  10. Otak Baguette
  11. Cinnamon Pumpkin Slice
  12. Grilled tomatoes with fried garlic
  13. Asparagus, string beans and mushrom encased in streaky bacon
  14. Pork Loin Ribs
  15. Kaya Toast
  16. Grilled Tapioca

Expired

So I found a roll of Fuji Sensia slide film. The use by date on the box is November 2001. It has been stored in normal room temperature.

I’ve not used film in ages, but I still have my trusty Yashica T5 (T4 Super), a camera that I love a lot. Against my old Canon 55 (50E) with a 28-200mm lens, the Yashica T5 churned out better, sharper, more saturated pictures. Continue reading “Expired”

Clean Up Phase One

After struggling to finish draft one of a new comedy I’m writing, I decided I need to do something about the layout of my bedroom.

I have my office right in my bedroom. I know, I know, home offices should not be in one’s bedroom, it’s not professional, there’s no separation of sleep-related activity and work-related activity.
