14km walk. For a town with too-modern Lom village with Green Hmong and Red Dao. Saw practically no one in traditional wear. Not excited by it.<\/p>\n

It was a 45 minute pave road walk, another 45 minute uphill walk, 15 minutes around the village and nothing excited me.<\/p>\n

Half hour break for picnic lunch. Laughing cow cheese and soup powder base from some instant noodle packet for the egg. Soup powder base totally unnecessary.<\/p>\n

Return to guest house was another 2 hour walk to the largest town in the area, Nam Cuong. From this “big road” we were picked up by the driver and driven back 6-7 km to the guest house. Those 6-7 km would’ve taken us another 2 hour walk if we had done it on foot, as it is an uphill\/downhill winding single track road.<\/p>\n

Along the walk back, passed another Tay village called Qua, but again, I became more interested in animals.<\/p>\n

Got back by 2pm, took a nap till 3:40, then went out again to take some shots in better light. Quite happy with that. But noticed that camera images have bigf dust spots. Considering I only put on this 50mm lens and have never taken it off, this is quite bad.<\/p>\n

Ba Be Lake, worth only one night, I think. Tomorrow is a return to Hanoi. Breakfast is at 8am, Departing 830am. But I think I shall really make the effort to go and take some early morning photos tomorrow. Shall I attempt a 530 wake up?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
