Unlike a lot of people out there, I really dislike iTunes.<\/p>\n
So second to go after disabling dock from my system, iTunes is gone from my macbook. It’s really quite easy and Apple provides some very clear instruction<\/a>s to do so.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And I’ve been searching for an alternative player that is as clean and simple and light as foobar2000<\/a>.<\/p>\n Well, I don’t know about light. But it’s simple. It’s Cog<\/a>. And it plays a heck more formats than iTunes, including the open formats Ogg<\/a> and FLAC<\/a>. (MP3 is a closed format, by the way. Technically, every time you use an MP3, you owe Thomson<\/a> money.)<\/p>\n Cog is about 15mb and to download iTunes is 64mb.<\/p>\n If you have an iPod (I don’t) and need to sync up without iTunes, try Floola<\/a> or YamiPod<\/a>. Floola also gets your Google calendar synced up as well.<\/p>\n If you want an iTunes that manages your music, plays more formats and is not as bloated, try Play<\/a>.<\/p>\n
