Okay, I’m not about to complain how it’s been hot one minute and the next it’s pouring with rain. And after that, it’s still hot again.<\/p>\n

Somehow just saying that statement of fact sounds like a complaint.<\/p>\n

But really, it’s on days like these that I miss the sound of the bullfrogs. Yes, those things that honk in the night after a nice cool rain.<\/p>\n

One night, I decided to go out and look for these guys.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, having a huge panting Golden Retriever on these hunts isn’t a good idea. Wouldn’t you run away from a panting guy in the dark who isn’t your running partner?<\/p>\n

How do these chaps sound so loud?<\/p>\n

I’m no Jeff Corwin<\/a>, but every one of these frogs were close to or near a drainpipe that I suspect, allows their calls to amplify and travel.<\/p>\n

Maybe it’s just coincidence.<\/p>\n

Prove me wrong. Do your own research.<\/p>\n

And you know what? These guys are not as big as the sound they make.<\/p>\n

Listening to them from my room, it seems they’re all pretty much the same sounding. But on listening back to the (amateur) recordings I made, that’s not the case.<\/p>\n
