Concord – Avenue of the Giants – Crescent City

Drove more than 400 miles today up the 101, visited the Avenue of the Giants and am now at the Best Western in Crescent City.

On the way, we stopped by Novato’s Target. Today was the launch day of Rodarte’s line in Target. By the end of the day, many items had sold out online. So someone was very happy.

Then we headed on to the Avenue of the Giants, where gigantic Redwoods soar to the skies. It starts from the turnoff to Philipsville from the 101.

Had Mexican, of all things, at Phillipsville.

At Eureka, the 101 finally got near to the coast. Unfortunately, it was nearly dark by then. And we still had about 100 miles on to Crescent City. Drove through fog, rain, steep slopes and tight curves.

Tomorrow, we cross over to Oregon. I hope the rain holds up a bit.
