Vietnam Day 17 – Hanoi to Singapore

Okay, not quite counted as a day because it’s just travelling home, right?

Nothing major happened, except that the connection was so tight, there was a staff member of Dragon Air waiting to escort me to my connecting flight.

I had 20 minutes from my landing to the next boarding gate. It took us a full 20 minutes to get from one gate to the other, which, literally was at the end of the other terminal. I made it, and my bags made it. This is HKIA for you.

An American airport? Good luck, you’re on your own.

An airport in Paris? You might be able to make it, but your bags won’t. And again, you’re on your own.

Anyway, here is my entire GPS track of my trip in Vietnam: GPS map of Vietnam trip. If you tick off all the files save for the second and the penultimate days in Vietnam, these two days were entirely on foot, so you can see how by the end of the trip I was starting to get a sense of place and working out my mental map of Hanoi.

If I go back to Hanoi within a year, I think I should be able to manage quite well.

So, this has been quite an accomplishment, since I’ve managed to complete telling you about my trip. My Scotland trip of last year still remains unfinished. And so does my Colorado trip the year before that, or was it two years before that?
