We had to get chains for Yosemite. And the first car we got couldn’t be fitted with snow chains. So we made the 1.5 hour drive back to the airport to change the car.
When we returned to get chains, we realised that the chains cost $65.55. No choice. No chains = no Yosemite.
So, we got to Yosemite from LA via Fresno.
It’s a pretty place. And snow chains were required for some routes.
Unfortunately, we didn’t really know how to read the signs and went up a route that required snow chains. But at a certain point, we saw huge buses putting on snow chains and I decided to turn around. I was quite determined not to use chains so that we can go return them.
Among the highlights of Yosemite: great views, a few nice walks that we managed to do and a couple of deer sightings.
