From airport to airport

Left this morning and said goodbye to my two dogs. Two, because Jojo is too stupid to know what is going on. Tricky was wagging her tail. She’s more aware but doesn’t know how just what it means to see us go. Sumo, the smartest of the lot, looked confused – he’s never seen us pack up and leave him. I worry with G, he’ll just get out of control ’cause no one really knows how to manage him.

At Changi Airport, I logged on to the ‘net. Hard to try my darndest to remember my stupid FREE wireless password. Only in stupid Singapore must people register to use a free network.

Hong Kong? Logged onto the wi-fi easy peasy. No login details, nothing. Just a disclaimer to click on. And I’m surfing easy.

In fact, I’m writing from HK airport now and messaging friends in Singapore and HK who didn’t even know I’d left Singapore.

This is my first time I will visit HK on my return home, but I feel like I’ve been in this airport before – but when?

Okay, time to get on the plane.

A progress report

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve written in my blog. I don’t know how people blog about their lives every few minutes or hours. Why is it that they have so much happening in their lives that is worth telling everyone about and I don’t?

Well, just because I’ve not written anything doesn’t mean life’s stopped for me.

Someone has been through your stuff

Today, I was visiting RangeFinderForum and read about this guy in Hong Kong whose flat had been broken into.

The robbers made off with his Bessa L, a couple of lenses, his MacBook, Panasonic Lumix, watches and other stuff.

In one of the comments, a user posted “Sorry that you were violated and your property stolen…”

That word “violated” jumped at me and took me back to a time in Thailand.

I was about 13 years old or so. My family and I had joined one of these AA organised driving tours from Singapore to Thailand.

There are a few things that stay stuck in my memory on that trip.

Are you ready for 6.5mil people?

Yesterday, my dad was on the MRT at around 4pm. The train was packed.

He got whacked in the face and stomach – supposedly accidental – prompting him to wonder to my mother why the MRT was packed at non-peak hour.

After he got off the MRT and was crossing the road to get the car, he was talking about how wonderful it was to be in safe Singapore. In other countries, they’d be pickpocketed.

And at that very moment, he felt for his pockets and realised that his mobile phone had been taken.

Weekend at a kelong

Red and blue: Fishing at the Kelong

Spent the weekend at a kelong run by three Singaporeans. The website address is kelongfishing.com but when I checked out the website, I found it was called Hot Boys fishing.

Well, it was hot. But I don’t know who the boys are. Unless you were talking about the old uncles fishing off the kelong.

The kelong is just off Pulau Sibu which is accessed via Tanjung Leman jetty.

It’s not a real kelong and it’s run only for tourists.
