Hari Puttar and the Order of the Names

Americans. Still think we Asians can’t spell.

And we Asians are one very realistic people. We know that when Hari Puttar goes to England, he isn’t going to enter a fun school of wizardy and magic. Oh no. He’s going to face discrimination and hatred. And he knows they won’t hate him any less if he does well in school and earns millions of dollars. But at least he can enjoy the pleasures his millions can buy.

How easy these Americans forget that other than finding top Indians in the fields of maths, science and technology, the 2008 Scripps Spelling Bee was snatched away from so-called native speakers by 13-year old Sameer Mishra. The second spot was also taken by another Indian, Sidarth Chand.

If China continues to poison those who drink their melamine-enriched milk, and burn up babies in China-made wear who play too near the heater and retard babies who suck and chew on plastic toys with lead in them, just you see, it won’t be China taking over the world. It’ll be India.

In fact, it should be India. Ceteris paribus, they have the language advantage. They just need political will and discipline.

Now, if only I know how to get my hands on some Tata shares…
