Golden Gate Bridge, Clement, GG Park, Haight Ashbury

After a couple days of doing nothing, I hit the streets of San Francisco again.

Taking the BART to the Montgomery, I transferred to a MUNI, 38L, transferred to another MUNI, the 28 and arrived at Golden Gate Bridge car park.

Of course after two days of clear days, today, it was misty.

I walked down to Fort Point which offered more opportunities to take the bridge in interesting ways.

I then walked across the GGB and back. It was a good walk and the wind was blustery and cold and just the way I like it. Although I think I was the only one in bermudas and t-shirt there.

Hope is a call away: GGB

And this is why when people offer me to take photos, I always say no: GGB growing out of head.

Boy, I look fat.

I took the 28 back down the road to Clement Street, which has a lot of Asian food and I had an excellent roast duck and, while the roast pork was crispy, it was too meaty. I had to speak in Cantonese to order the food and they gave me too much and charged me $6.75 for it. It was way more meat I would’ve gotten for $6.75 in Singapore. Well, it filled me for lunch and dinner.

Then I walked from Clement down to the Golden Gate Park, which is lovely to visit if you are taking a more leisurely visit of the city. Great wide open space, lots of space for people and dogs.

Conservatory of Flowers

That’s the Conservatory of Flowers that has an admission fee of $7 to see special exhibits but it closes at 4:30pm and I only got there after 5pm. However, I glanced through the windows and saw nepenthes.

After that, I walked briefly through the Haight-Ashbury area, which was a kind of funky grungy place.

I took the 71 back to town and walked around the Embarcadero-Ferry Building and found the Hyatt an interesting building to photograph.

And that the Bay Bridge is more more golden than the Golden Gate Bridge when the sun sets. During this time, for the first time in 20 years, the Bay Bridge is closed for this Labour Day weekend.

By the end of the trip, I had gotten the hang of the San Francisco public transportation system.

Basically, always get a transfer because it’ll will save you a quarter each trip, and try and make your trip within your transfer time stated on the ticket, because that means you’ll be able to complete your trip (back and forth) within the least amount of time.

Having said that, I’ve overstayed at all my locations taking photos.
