I am amazingly calm.
Calm for a person who has lost almost 40gb photographs of a trip to South America and South Africa.
Last night, I used the “Eject hardware safely” icon on the taskbar and pulled out the USB cable of the hard disk.
This morning, I plug it back in, reboot and guess what, except for four folders, ALL the other folders had become non-folders.
Non-folders? They were 64kb files of nothing.
The drive was supposed to hold hundreds of folders, sorted by date, each containing original photos of my trip.
I can see that the hard disk still looks full. I’m convinced the data is there. Somewhere.
I’m going to run chkdsk. And see how it goes.
