My second personal project for 2015 is to address a feeling that I’ve not taken enough photos with my cameras.
So, I’m going to take one black and white photo each day for 2015 in square format.
I’ll be uploading them directly to my gallery.

There are loads of lists and loads of apps. But which are absolutely crucial? While these may not be top of the line, they’re the ones I depend on.

I just realised that I’ve not posted about my Cambodian trip I did earlier this year in February from the 4th to 11th where I visited Siem Reap and Battambang, the second largest city in Cambodia. (Yes, I also have my incomplete travel posts on Scotland in 2012 and US road trip in 2011. It’s impossible to keep up.)
Warning: The posts will have a lot of photos. Travelling alone allows me to take photos without feeling like I’m making someone bored.

I’ve posted plenty of photos in my Cambodia 2014 gallery and I’ll start here with a general overview of Siem Reap town, some roadside sightings, the local markets and interesting foods I tasted along the way.

I’ve found some useful extensions for Chrome browser. I’m listing them down so I don’t forget.

So I’ve been wanting to write Hunter’s Song for ages now. I had a song in mind starting with:
They call me Hunter
With my long slender body
And my…
It pretty much stopped there for a while. From time to time, the ideas would pick up again.
A few months ago, I finally put more words in and ended up with this:
They call me Hunter
But you won’t find a rabbit in my mouth
They say looks can kill but mine will break your heart
My long and slender (golden) body
And my oversized paws
There are no laws
When it comes to Hunter.
I always imagined it’d be sung in a Leonard Cohen-ish kind of way. Low. More spoken than sung.
But today, I was strumming around on my ukulele, and I just put stupid words down and made up a tune. It is not at all close to the idea that I started with.
So here is Hunter’s Song.
… is how I feel.
Loss is what I sense.
Empty is it what I am?
Here’s a sad song about feeling abandoned that I recorded in a key too low for me: Paul Simon’s The Only Living Boy in New York released in 1970.
… and an old lens.
Yes, after many years with my trusty D70 that most have discarded, I finally made an upgrade to the D600. I passed on the D80, was seriously tempted by the D90, but I held out and I’m glad. The D600 is really a big change and yes, the price was a big upgrade too.
Just before I left for Scotland, everything electronic seemed to be falling apart.
