Seen these new machines that OCBC has installed just about everywhere that do just about everything?
Rats on order
When you have to take people around – people that you would not normally mix with in your social or professional life – there are many interesting things that you learn in conversation.
In the end, it is the end
So the Angsana Tree at Braddell Road was hacked down on Sunday.
I was away over the weekend and on Monday, I had to go to Toa Payoh and took this picture:

What took 80 years to grow, was felled down in one day.
The Angsana Tree
Just a few months back, I drove up Braddell Road.
I’d not driven up this road in ages, and realised that there was a tree right in the middle of the road.
It was great. I was surprised, a little taken aback and wondering if I’d taken the right split in the road.
But it was the same road. It was just a tree in the way. And I thought to myself. Wow! The government actually left this tree there. It was really cool.
And then today, I see this article in The Straits Times – U-turn: End of the road for 80-year-old tree in Braddell by T. Rajan. Continue reading “The Angsana Tree”
Mail for the trash
When it comes to mail, there are usually only two stacks. Trash or bills.
The other third, less common stack are the surprises – actual letters from people you want to hear from and birthday cards that don’t come from NTUC income, your insurance agent or any other company you do business with. Actually those never form a stack. But I can hope.
Most times, you can’t wait to get rid of the trash stack.
But there are times when they are worth a look.
Like the mailer I received today. Continue reading “Mail for the trash”
Of Hot Dogs and People Watching
Don’t you hate it when you dream of something and the minute you open your eyes, you forget what it was about?
The next 10 minutes is usually a time I try to recall whatever I can. Continue reading “Of Hot Dogs and People Watching”
The fresh search continues…
I guess it’s about time I hunker down and finish what I started in this post.
I was quite excited by the green tea flavour. But after several weeks with green tea toothpaste, I hardly even notice the green tea taste any longer. And I don’t think of eating sushi when I brush.
Unhappy time for all
Work is piling up. All dogs are unhappy and refusing to eat.
And the weather is starting to get hot and stifling.
Great.
Did you enjoy your ang pows?
I did.
Not what was inside, but what was outside. Continue reading “Did you enjoy your ang pows?”
In search for freshness
